April 2nd is Florida Day!

So I've been researching lesser known holidays and observances in the hopes of inspiring more mini blogging on the Norm's blog.

So far, so good.

Today, April 2nd, is Florida Day! Here's the blurb I found about it -

"Pascua Florida Day is celebrated as a state day in Florida, the United States (USA). It usually falls on April 2. It is the anniversary of the discovery of Florida in 1513 by Juan Ponce de León, who searched for gold and the Fountain of Youth. He named the land "Pascua Florida" probably because the date was near Easter." - From here Pascua Florida Day in the U.S.

I feel like I learned something! Happy Florida Day! Hope you had a wonderful one. And now I'll just have to see what the next weird holiday is. Any suggestions? What are YOUR favorite strange holidays? Let me know in the comments!
